  • Blue IQ
    Blue IQ Investment Holdings is a R2,3 billion initiative of the Gauteng Provincial Government. The aim of Blue IQ is to place the Gauteng economy on new trajectory that encourages economic growth and job creation. The AIDC is one of its constituent projects and, together with the other Blue IQ projects, the AIDC has made great strides towards meeting its strategic objectives and supporting Blue IQ's aims. The automotive industry is one of the truely great success stories of the South African economy. By meeting its strategic objectives, the AIDC will continue contributing towards the aim of the Blue IQ - growing the economy of Gauteng.

  • ECDC
    The Eastern Cape Development Corporation's primary objective is to facilitate and support private sector development in the Eastern Cape Province. The ECDC offers a range of professional services to achieve this through the expansion of existing business; creation of new business; expansion of existing markets; development of new markets; and advocacy and lobbying for a conducive business environment in the province. The ECDC has provided funding to extend the AIDC's presence to the Eastern Cape resulting in the official launch of the AIDC Eastern Cape office in March 2004. This partnership has led to many successful AIDC projects impacting on the Eastern Cape's economic development.

  • NORTH WEST PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT
    The North West Province AIDC Initiative operates as a ring-fenced  special project within the existing structures of the AIDC Gauteng. The rationale and resulting benefits of this approach is:
    • Quick start-up
    • Reduced establishment costs
    • Minimised duplication
    • Integrate into existing systems, procedures and capacity
    • Integrate into existing support structures
    • Benefit from established track record and credibility
    • Close proximity of current AIDC offices to the automotive cluster in the province (Brits)
    • Part of an existing national network.

    All projects undertaken within this initiative are separately accounted for and as such undergo all the necessary corporate governance procedures in accordance with the PFMA, e.g. reporting, approval processes, auditing, etc.

  • CSIR
    The CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) is one of the largest R&D, technology and innovation institutions in Africa with a track record spanning 60 years. Structured around operational research units and strategic technology centres, the CSIR strives for excellence in all its endeavours to improve the quality of life of South Africa's people and to foster naitonal and international competitiveness. As a shareholder in the AIDC, the CSIR's involvement is driven by the importance of global competiveness.

  • The DTI
    South Africa has developed an established and diversified manufacturing base that has demonstrated resilience and the potential to compete in a global economy. The manufacturing sector provides a locus for stimulating the growth of other activities, such as services, and achieving specific outcomes, such as value addition, employment creation, and economic empowerment. This platform of manufacturing presents an opportunity significantly to accelerate growth and development if approached appropriately. The AIDC's collaboration with the DTI has resulted in a supplier development programme with focus on the competitiveness improvement within SME and BEE automotive suppliers.

  • NAACAM
    The National Association of Automotive Component and Allied Manufacturers (NAACAM) provides South African manufacturing companies with a forum through which to formulate policies for the benefit of the industry as a whole. The AIDC, in collaboration with Naacam, facilitated several national industry initiatives, including the Motor Industry Supply Chain Competitiveness Improvement Programme (MISCCIP) and the Logistics Technical Action Group (TAG).

  • NAAMSA
    The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of SA is the leading authority and information provider for the South African motor industry. NAAMSA is one of the TAG Logistics members - a forum that the AIDC is a facilitator of.

  • Numsa
    Numsa is the biggest metalworkers trade union in South Africa with more than 216 000 members. It is an active affiliate of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu), the biggest trade union federation in South Africa . Formed in 1987, it merged five different unions, some of whom had formed in the 1960s and 1970s. Numsa brings a wealth of experience to trade unionism. It is the biggest trade union (except in Eskom) in all national bargaining forums where it bargains.

  • RMI
    The RMI is the lead voice in the motor industry. Owned by 7500 members whose needs are serviced out of six Regional offices, manned by 70 professional staff. The RMI is a member owned and driven Organisation; constantly seeking and offering solutions to issues/concerns raised by members' in their day-to-day running of their businesses. The RMI is the major employer representative of the Motor Industry Bargaining Council and thus plays a major role in negotiations for the Main Agreement for the Motor Industry and the administrative Agreement.
